Thursday, November 26, 2009 // Upcoming Shows!
Dear Peeps, I am really getting excited about the next few weeks of shows! I hope that you realize that I'm going to be in NYC again! The newest news, is that my new band "The Cloud in The Cloud" will be performing an early 7pm show at VOX POP cafe in Brooklyn NY on December 3rd! Please get there early to experience the magic! I will also be performing with The Sippy Cups at Irving Plaza, and in Albany NY (dec.5&6). When we get back to California, I'll be doing some downtempo chillness with Zach Morris in Sebastopol on December 11th at Odd Fellows Hall, and then more Sippy Cups at Ashkenaz in Berkeley on December 13! There will be two afternoon shows!!! After That, you will find me (finally!) headlining at The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma on December 19th! There is an awesome line up of all my favorite local rockers! A Pack of Wolves, Body or Brain, Mystery Invention, Noise Boys, and Kit'N'Tenders will also appear! Soooooo, as you can see, there is a lot to keep you entertained between Turkey/Tofurkey Day and Christmas! I hope to see you at all of these fun shows... check the tour page for more details, or become my friend on Facebook and we can chat till the cows come home! yay!

Sunday, November 22, 2009 // Claypool Cellars, Porch, and The Phoenix
After several days of feverish sweats and mind numbing chills, (along with handfuls of pills-herbal and otherwise) I emerged from my nest on the couch to play some music and entertain you people! I have not been quite so sick for some time and I had forgotten how much it sucks. I sleep on my back like a vampire, so, as you might imagine, I have quite a collection of mucus in my lungs and hovering at the back of my throat. This secret stash is slowly coming up and out each morning much to the distaste of my family. I practically have to vomit it up, but I feel much better after doing so. One of my favorite commercials on TV is for Mucinex. It features monsterous mucus balls partying in your lungs. They are similar to that slime guy in ghost busters! Sigourney Weaver is so freakin' scary in that movie. Anyways, I ended up playing at the Claypool Cellars Purple Pachederm event at The HopMonk in Sebastopol. I did a solo set at the beginning of the night and was well received. Due to the fact that I was feeling weird and had no band, I decided to present some new songs and "let loose" a little. I can't remember what I played, but everyone in the crowd sang along...even to the new songs and made me feel like I wasn't dead (yet). hahaha. THanks you guys! Next day, I went around the corner to Ausgang Audio and recorded some sitar and theremin with Todd Huth for the new Porch album! Cool! Now I was starting to feel like a real working musician...whatever that means:) After that, I went home to walk and feel Bon Bini, then I went over to Aqus Cafe to try and help raise money for The Phoenix Theater. When my time came to play, I stood in front of the people of Petaluma and started to think about how The Phoenix had effected my life. I remembered how I had gone to see many shows there, and how those performances had shaped my goals in life. Even though it is a hotbed for teen mischief, it is also a safe place for kids to gather and experiment be it with music or whatever else teens experiment with. hehehe. I am really glad that The Phoenix exists 'cause otherwise, I might have wanted to be a dental hygenist and I wouldn't be writing to you right now. Be sure to support your local arts and teens... I promise it will be entertaining and you will probably get at least a few laughs out of it.

Monday, November 16, 2009 // So much to say... not enough time
News is new to you or is it new to me? If you haven't been hanging out with me in the physical world then you might be interested in reading this. We did two Halloween shows (Josh, Zach, and The Ukulady) one in Arcata with Marco Benevento and one at Ravenous in Healdsburg! Both of these Halloween shows were so nice. The promoters and peeps at the venues were soooo welcoming and treated us like rockstars. They even fed us artisan cheeses! I played with TSC (The Sippy Cups) at House of Blues in LA, and got to hang out with Don Black and The Ukulady all weekend! Super fun! I did the Contemporary Jewish Museum show with The Cloud in The Cloud for the Sendak Gala event, and I played two shows with TSC at Bimbo's in SF yesterday. That means.... It is about time for another La La show!
