Monday, September 28, 2009 // Handcar Regatta

We had a super groovy time playing at The Great Handcar Regatta on Sunday! It was almost like playing on the sun:) Very hot, but all in good fun. I was expecting to play only 20 minutes or so, but when we got there, we were granted a lovely long set and played many songs for a large and generous audience. I felt very happy to share my music with so many locals and visitors. The costumes and contraptions were beautiful and unique to say the least. This event is truly one of a kind and I hope that everyone will be there next year. They even had giant cupcakes! We sold the very last pairs of limited edition Gabby La La rainbow cloud sunglasses, and now my brain is spinning with new ideas for merchandise. I think everyone enjoyed the free Javarnanda/Gabby La La buttons as well:) This show marked the end of a wonderful musical visit from my myspace/Facebook friends Javarnanda and Mery. They came to visit and play music with us all the way from Italy! I will miss them. All in all, we did three amazing shows, LA. SF, and SR! So much fun! Next I guess it's my turn to go to Italy and play with them! Arrivederci!

I have been extrememly busy, and things just keep moving in my direction! This can be overwhelming but it is essentially good. To keep a natural and necessary balance, I will try to meditate or at least breath consciously at least three times a day. Ever since I returned from Feather River life has been go go go. I am very overwhelmed by the quick pace in Petaluma. This must mean that I am relaxed:) There is absolutely no time to "ease" into it because there are many loose ends to collect and make friendship bracelets with. (If you know what I mean) I am feeling excited about playing on Friday evening at "Peace in the Panhandle" (5-8pm FREE ALL AGES) and then on Saturday at "Power to the Peaceful" (I go on at 1pm at the Kid Zone). These are two classic San Francisco events which I have been wanting to participate in for some time now. My dear friend Bernadette runs "Peace in the Panhandle" and it should be a lovely acoustic sunset gathering:) I hope to see you out and about this weekend! Ta Ta for now:)
